We believe we are a much better option for the golfer who is going away with non-golfers, or who only wants to play 3-4 rounds in a week. We offer you a mix of what Portugal has to offer. Burgau offers a genuine Portuguese experience and is within just 40 minutes of 9 different courses. We are not a large resort next to a golf course, we are a small family run resort in a picturesque fishing village which has a great beach. Burgau’s night life offers everything from a quiet drink by the beach to a couple of very sociable bars. Beyond our very own very own Navegador, there are 15 – 20 very good restaurants in the village covering a wide range of tastes from Portuguese to Italian and even Indian.

During the winter months Burgau is a tranquil village, but remains a surprisingly sunny place. With less tourists around, some of the real character of the town and its local population comes out. A few bars and restaurants still open nightly, but they remain fairly quiet making this the perfect time of year to really get to know the people who live there as they pop in for an evening drink. The sun will still shine, you may still need your sun cream and you will likely only need T-shirts or similar attire. The weather will vary, there will be some very sunny days and some very stormy ones too, however from the comfort of your apartment or villa you enjoy the warm tranquillity or let the rough seas hypnotise you.

Still plenty to do locally

The local walks and bike rides are stunning at this time of year as the winter flowers are out. Golf and tennis is generally cheaper as is the car hire and flights.

Our kitchens are spacious and well equipped and living rooms large, comfortable with a range of international TV channels. We have some of the best views across the village and bay and in Winter the protection offered by our closed balconies is particularly popular. This allows tenants to sit outside in full protection in almost any weather conditions.
